In the context of the modernisation of the architectural heritage not allocated to secondary education, a protocol was signed with the Portuguese Tourist Board (Turismo de Portugal, IP) in June 2008 for the conversion of the former Machado de Castro (Lisbon) and Soares dos Reis (Porto) schools to Hospitality and Tourism Schools, with associated training hotels/academies.
Parque Escolar also signed a protocol with the same body for a technical assistance partnership for the construction of the new Hospitality and Tourism Schools in Setúbal and Santa Maria da Feira.

In the case of Porto Hospitality and Tourism School (intervention in the old Soares dos Reis Secondary School for the transfer and installation of the Porto Hospitality and Tourism School), it was signed a financing contract between the Management Authority of Operational Programme ON.2, Portuguese Tourist Board and Parque Escolar, E.P.E.. The investment of Parque Escolar, E.P.E. responsibility is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) up to a rate of 70%.
